I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's bout.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
