Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev won his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a challenging period, managing just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former trainer his previous coach.
Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one titles at 21 different tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a title is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the elite level was over.
But the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced service.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet saved four initial chances in a competitive third set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
